I was invited to this luncheon by Councilwoman Mary Sue Rich. I received a 3 minute chair massage. I asked the therapist why I had little sore spots down my back, neck and shoulders. She said we feel stress about certain things in different parts of our bodies. Oh oh! I went to a cooking demonstration by the chef at "On Top of the World" community.
I thought the centerpiece was beautiful.
This is Councilwoman Rich, she was chairwoman of the Ocala event. Two women spoke about their personal experiences with heart disease. It was very touching. They asked everyone to stand if they had a heart disease. Quite a few did. Then they asked everyone to stand if they had a family member or a friend who had heart disease. Then they asked everyone to stand if a loved one died from heart disease. All of a sudden it hit me.....my father died of a disecting aneurism. It never occured to me before that it was a heart disease. A lightbulb moment. The whole room was standing at this point. Very touching.
