Paul pointed out this poster on the wall, that is advertising "communism".
Greek Optician
Lobster!!!
Maple syrup, with the 3 different grades...light, medium and dark
We ate crepes here on our last visit when Sean was with me.
Don't these give you a desire to research how to cook with fresh herbs?
Pate de fois, otherwise known as liver paste
Notice the radishes, there are a few different varieties. I am like Rapunzel's mother, I love radishes!!!!
I think this is the most beautiful eggplant I have ever seen!
I love beets too....have never seen orange ones.
Have you ever had these? They are parsnips. Canadians like them mashed like potatoes. They look just like potatoes but have a slight yellow color. Ricky took a huge helping on his mission sadly to realize they have a sharp flavor, unlike potatoes! They are used in stews also.
These are cerises de terre, grown in Quebec. They have a papery skin that you peel off. The fruit looks like a little yellow grape tomato, with a plum texture, and they taste like honey.
The blueberries come in large and small. The small is wild and costs much more.......we saw a basket for $85.
Pommettes, little, teeny apples
Salsa!!!
Seeing cabbages this huge makes us wonder if babies really are born in
"cabbage patches". These would make great cabbage rolls.

The strawberries in Quebec are little, pure red all the way through, and really juicy.
A Muslim cafe.
Beautiful grapes!
Here is a picture of Tintin, I grew up reading about him and his dog Snowy. He was always really nice, but looks a bit evil in this picture...
We bought a bag of these carrots. The colored ones taste just like the orange ones in case you were wondering.
We bought some duck eggs. The man told us they were very silky tasting and were best soft boiled over toast. They also had turkey eggs.
I love what this vendor did with the corn!
These look like green beans, but look more closely....they are curly, they are garlic buds, they are the ends of garlic bulbs. Mom cut them up like green onions and sauteed them in some olive oil. They are really good on baked potatoes!
There is even cotton.
Isn't this colored cauliflower different? We bought some gold and it tastes the same as the white.
Fresh figs, never had a fresh one.
This photo reminds me of the basket that the SunMaid raisin lady carries.
Aren't these mushrooms pretty with the parsley?
On the way home, we found an interesting souvlaki restaurant.
The menu looks good to me, but we didn't stop to eat.
We had a lot of fun just being at the market, and have been enjoying the vegetables and fruit since.
