Wow, at last, I finished the dress. Thank goodness it turned out. There was so much yardage for a little one and a half year old. I tried it on her the other day, and it dusted the floor. I couldn't imagine taking the ruffle off and shortening it, because I finished all the seams, and sewed the buttonholes. I put three 1/4 inch pin tucks in the dress, and I used a bigger stitch (not as big as a basting stitch) so that Lindsay can easily take them out as Kennedy grows.
The lace is antique.
I love the rick rack.
Here is the dress with the pinafore. I had a 2 l/2" hem on the pinafore, and just folded it up one more time and then hemmed it. Therefore the hem can be let down as Kennedy grows. I bet it will fit her next winter as well. I have an ensemble for her from head to toe, but I will leave the rest a surprise.

That is so cute and you are such a good seamstress.
That turned out so cute! She is going to look like a little doll in it--can't wait to see the rest!
I can't wait to see pictures of her wearing these outfits!
I love this dress!! When I was home for Thanksgiving my mom and I went to the same JoAnn's that we all went to years and years ago to pick out Lindsay and I's sunflower dress pattern!! It looks just the same and brought back great memories.
