When we arrived in Montreal, we waited for Paul to finish his shift at the hospital. Then he walked to the hotel to see us. We went for a walk to View Montreal. The architecture was magnificent! This building was designed by the same architect who designed the Empire State Building, and this one is the same, but on a smaller scale.

Then we arrived at the Basilica Notre Dame, my favorite. When I was 16, I sat in front of this basilica and drew it then went home and finished the picture in water color. I still have it rolled up in a cardboard tube. Have always meant to get it framed.....

Look at the beautiful street light!

Here is my brother Paul with Ricky and Sean, in front of the Basilica.

Here is a closeup of the cobblestone street.

I love this photo, with the light peeking from behind the trees.

There were so many beautiful window boxes lining the streets. This one is full of cascading plants.

On our way back to the hotel, I took this picture of part of the city scape. Paul showed us so many landmarks, where President DeGaulle gave his famous "Vive les Quebecois" speech, the exact spot where the game "Trivial Pursuit" was thought up, where Benjamin Franklin stayed when he came to help the government, where the British and French had one of their battles, and so much more. So much history!

Really beautiful! Haven't I been to that cathedral? I know we went to some one summer, but can't remember exactly which ones...
what a beautiful place!!! i would love to go there someday!!!
We missed so much. I think we would have had to have been there for 1 month to see it all. I couldn't walk more then 3 blocks though.
Remember the glass name tag holders that we bought. Well, we each bought 6. I have 9 adults in the family and 6 grandchildren at the table. I think you have more then that too. I suggest that one of us take them all so we would have 12. What do you think????????
