I have been working on this quilt for over a year and a half. I love it, each month anticipating what the new pattern will be. I have moved away from Utah now, and my friend Marianne has been mailing me the patterns. I am working on the finishing kit. It includes the border fabrics and the binding. Lindsay chose the backing for me which was fun because that means that there is a part of her in the quilt too. I just finished drawing all the borders on freezer paper and marking the scallops and circles. I needed a break, so I thought I would show you what my work table looks like right now.
This is the stack of my work in progress. The quilt itself, the borders, and the backing, topped by a pillow that Marianne made for me when I moved. I cut the dotted scallop border the wrong direction. I didn't mean to, but I did! Now I hope that Nadine still has some at her shop so Sean can buy it when he makes a trip to Material Girls for me. He is flying to Utah for two weeks tomorrow. Stay tuned for my work in progress. This is the "Comforts of Home" quilt that I have posted about before.
