Well, I've had a lot of free time so instead of watching TV, I sew....
I made this rag quilt for Kennedy for her 2nd birthday. It is about 43 inches X43 inches in size.
You sew all three layers together at once, so it is quilt as you go. When you are finished binding the quilt, you throw it in the washer and dryer, cut off all the millions of loose threads and you have a rag quilt. I love the colors.

I backed the quilt with yummy vintage rose chenille.

Then I thought, what shall I make next? A lovely little dress or nightgown, pink to match the quilt. I sewed inlayed lace on the yoke and around the neck and sleeves, with pintucks in between. I outlined the embroidered band with entredeux.

I love the embroidered band, and attached it with some beautiful heirloom lace on the hem.

Little flower pearl buttons on the back.

It sure would be fun to have a matching quilt for Kennedy to wrap up her baby doll in. It's about 20 inches wide by 25 inches long.
I love this print, so I put it on the back and machine embroidered little flowers in the squares. I love the way it turned out!

So I made a quilt, a doll quilt, a nightgown/dress, oh ya......Kennedy needs a pillow! I bought a 12" X 16" pillow form at JoAnn's, it is really plump and soft. I asked Sean (when he was in Utah) to pick out three l/2 yard pieces of pink fabric, one light, one medium and one bright. He did a great job and I made a little pillow for Kennedy to tote around with her.

I couldn't give her all that stuff without a baby doll. I don't know if this baby will ever be able to sleep. Just like me last night, because I was so excited about today. I might be buying two plane tickets from Johannesburg to Orlando today. Too much excitement. So happy 2nd birthday Kennedy, on July 19th. Lindsay, Jeremy, Bridger and Kennedy are arriving for dinner tonight and I have lots of things to do. I am preparing a special dinner with lots of treats for the grandkids. Bye for now.

I need to learn how to machine quilt myself. That's what your doing isn't it. What are you going to do when the rest of your kids have kids?
