Micanopy

Ricky and I went to the Micanopy Fair on Saturday.  It is a little town, where time has stood still.  Historic homes nestled among giant oak trees, adorned with drooping Spanish Moss.  I love to explore the little antique shops and eat good food. First, we walked through their museum.
I love the antique quilt hanging over the fireplace.
I also love antique sewing things.
This confederate soldier mannequin is kind of neat!
More history, it is a museum after all! Go Noles!
An old fashioned still!
Being in the south wouldn't be complete without trying fried green tomatoes.  These ones were really good, they were sliced thin, were a little tart with a touch of salt.
Isn't this house gorgeous?  It is an inn.
Doesn't this food booth look enticing?  Collard greens and squash, and they were smoking ribs, so Ricky just had to try it.
The ribs were finger lickin' good!  I tried something Mexican.  It was really good, but a little too greasy.  Fried corn fritter pancakes with a slice of gooey mozarella cheese in between the cakes.  It had a mexican name, I don't remember what they were called.  Everyone who saw me eating them, asked where they could get one.
We purchased a loaf of cranberry pecan bread that a man made in his homemade brick oven at the back of one of the shops.  Still haven't eaten it :( We bought it at this little place.
On our way home, we stopped in Citra at the Orange Shop.  Look what I saw outside.  I really wanted an orange tree when I moved to Florida.
I made two purchases, a place and a cup.  Pink depression glass, and they have the same pattern!
I glued them together and now I have a beautiful pink cake stand.
I am very happy with my purchases and thanks Ricky for a great day
