Neo, Day Three

This is probably my last DAILY post....Mabulane will most likely be released from the hospital on Sunday, so we won't be going to the hospital tomorrow.  
Ricky and I went to visit Neo in the NICU.  Everytime I take photos of her, she looks so much bigger than she really is.....When I look for her incubator, I always think the nurse has taken her because it looks empty.  I get a little closer, and there she is.....

I think this is one of the best pictures yet!  She is so cute, and so incredibly little.  Like a miniature baby!!!

I told Ricky to put his hand next to her so you might get an idea of her size.  Still don't think it shows how teeny she is....

Mabulane has been walking today.  She and Addison showed up and we had to leave because only 2 are allowed by the baby at a time. It took about 3 minutes for the nurse to move the cords, and situate Neo so she could be held.  I only took a video of the last part.  Neo must be held for at least an hour.  Apparently Neo burns calories when she is being removed, and they don't want her doing that.  The main objective is for her to grow and gain weight.  There are 3 things Neo must be able to do before she can go home.  She must be able to breathe on her own (she is), maintain her body temperature on her own, and drink milk on her own.

The nurse let me stay to take some pictures.  Mabulane and Addison are going to hold Neo for the first time.

 I took their photo and had to leave the room.  Addison and Mabulane took the rest of the pictures.  As I was uploading them, I watched this video.  I think it is so tender and so touching......Be prepared to smile and tear up.....

A mother's love can do wonders.....so can a father's....

Little Neo is thinking, "Are you my mother?"  She knows who her parents are now, and she is very very happy ♥
