Living 2,200 miles away from Utah is pretty hard when most of your children and all of your grandchildren live there. I dream of spending time with all of them. I thought up a new tradition....went to the store and bought some buttons, put photos in them and packed them in my suitcase. I flew to Utah and said to Bridger, " Tomorrow is your special day with Grammy." We woke up in the morning and got ready for the big day.
Bridger is wearing a button of me, and I am wearing one of him!
Sort of makes it a little more special......
Bridger had his heart set on going to the aquarium.
I told him to smile, but I think he was trying to look like a fish! Bridger was a little nervous about seeing the octopus, but not too bad.......We looked at the sharks. There was a nurse shark that just sat at the bottom of the tank and that wasn't so bad, until a giant tiger shark speed by. Then we both jumped.....We didn't dare go to the African room because there was a giant boa constrictor there. Neither of us wanted to touch the stingrays in their tank. I told Bridger that Grandpa touches them all the time! He says they are very soft. One of the stingrays swam around the tank so fast that every time he went around the corner, water would splash onto whoever was standing there. I think Bridger thought the stingray was going to fly right out of the tank! We did see two beautiful Nemos.......one must have been Nemo's brother. We were able to relax while we looked at the tropical fish.
Bridger really liked the toys in the gift shop.
He was fascinated by this one, squishy!
Next stop, lunch. Bridger wanted to eat at The Mayan, but as we drove by Sonic, he changed his mind and wanted to eat there. Bridger ordered popcorn chicken with tator tots and apple juice. I ended up eating most of the popcorn chicken because Bridger said he was too full. He got a really cool Sonic spoon that lights up. I told him it would be fun to eat cereal with.
Next stop, Target. I told Bridger he could pick out a toy. We looked at all the cars, trucks, Star Wars stuff.....but he kept being drawn to the Lego.......as if he had a magnet in his pocket! He chose this super duper Firetruck Lego!!!
I told Bridger to smile again, but I think he was still had those fish at the aquarium on his mind........not! He couldn't even dream of faking a smile, he had visions of building his firetruck the minute we got home.
One more stop, the spider web parc.
This guy love to climb!
Uh oh! Caught him thinking about that Lego again.....maybe we should have gone to the parc before we went to Target....
Thus concludes our fun day together. Wish I could have helped him build his firetruck but he knows exactly how to do it.
Bridger, I sure had a fun day with you. Start thinking about what you want to do, the next time I come and visit. Maybe Grandpa can come with us too!
