Thanksgiving Point

Mary Mikel and I have been friends since I moved to Crestview, Florida, about 18 years ago. Mary moved to Pleasant Grove about 4 years ago and is a middle school teacher in Sandy. We usually get together about once a month, to catch up on the goings on and happenings in our lives. Mary had the great idea of inviting our daughters this time. Sarah and Rebecca and Lindsay grew up together. Sarah has three children, Jackson, Sunny Mae, and Lila Cate. Here they are with Bridger. They had a table of their own.

Here's a picture of all of us at Thanksgiving Point, eating lunch at the deli. We had a great time being together. Just a few stories about Mary....
She helped us out when Ricky's mother died unexpectedly. She looked after all five children overnight so we could make funeral arrangements. (Brings back sad memories...)
When Vanessa was born, Mary and Sarah would come to our house at least once a week, just to hold her. Sarah wished she could have a baby sister like Rebecca and Lindsay. Well now she has three adorable children of her own!
Rebecca, Lindsay and Sarah along with about 5 other girls, spent the night at Vonda's aunts for Vonda's 9th birthday. Mary and I had dinner at Pizza Hut together and we thought, wouldn't it be fun if we could go over and cause some mischief? We went over and toilet papered (very mildly...) Connie Sue's house and then we scratched on the screen window. The girls screamed a terrified scream and ran to Connie and Junior's room. We had scared them and weren't expecting that reaction. We felt really badly. We were also scared that Junior would come out with his shotgun. We had to show ourselves, and wait about 10 minutes for Connie to get her makeup on. Then they invited us in for birthday cake. We didn't deserve it!
Mary and I had a combined birthday party for Sarah and Rebecca since their birthdays were only about 8 days apart. We invited all of Sarah's school class and all of Rebecca's school class, the softball team that they were on, and their primary class. The only ones who came were the kids in their primary class. We had the party in the cultural hall at the LDS church. It turns out that all of the other churc hes in town had signed a paper stating that they would never set foot in a Mormon church! We didn't find that out until later. They missed out on a fun party. We had games and prizes and lots to eat.
Mary's son Josh (who is a year old than Jordan) was married in the Salt Lake temple, 30 minutes after Dave and Rebecca.
Anyway, those are just a few stories, we have a lot of history together.

We broused in their very expensive gift shop. Doesn't Kennedy look like a princess?

Oh, I had forgotten about the toilet paper escapade! That was funny! That is what is so terrific about old friends- all the memories. Love, Mary
P.S. I don't know how to post so I steal Sarah's passwords.
